But! if they cluck their tongues at the way their favorite has aged since she trod the local boards it will stand as another achievement of Hollywood's makeup artists. For Miss Bondi aged a good 20 years every morning between the hours of 9 and 9:30kbefore going:on the set. In “Make Way for Tomorrow,” she plays the part of a grandmother, opposite Victor Moore. Miss Bondi and Mr. Moore appear as two old people who are cut loose from their children’s apron strings in the twilight of their lives. Unwanted by. anyone, they are buffeted from one home to another and blamed for all the famiiy mishaps. Eventually Miss Bondi ‘is sent to a Home, while Mr. Moore winds up on the West Coast in their daughter's housey hold. From a glance at the synop-’ sis, one might guess that “Make

Producer Predicts Black And White Movies | Soon to Go.

HOLLWOOD, May 18.—Announcing that henceforth all his pictures will be made in technicolor, Samuel Goldwyn today predicted the black-and-whites will soon be as rare as the silent films. The veteran producer's announcement was believed a forerunner of similar decisions by other major film studios. Mr. Goldwyn revealed plans for production of three films in color. "He said: “Within the last six months, color has taken vast strides. Color no longer interferes with the telling of the story, which is the primary motif behind a motion picture. Also, the new third color is subdued and a happy adjunct to motion picture making. : “There is no. doubt that most of the present pictures would utilize the new color processes if there were sufficient equipment to care for them.” : He said Technicolor Co. is preparing cameras and laboratories to handle the “inevitable swing of Hollywood almost - completely—certainly all major films within the next year—to color.”
