After Meeting

+ Members of the Indiana Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs are back at their desks and shops today with new ideas to stimulate activities and interest in their local organizations. Their annual three-day convention closed yesterday with a breakfast and past state presidents’ luncheon. Miss Helen Bennett, Chicago, was the speaker at the breakfast in the Columbia Club, and the dinner was held at the Indianapolis club house.

New officers are Miss Genevieve Brown, Indianapolis, president; Mrs. Ethel Hendricks, Muncie, first vice president; Mrs. Jeanette Bunnell, Plymouth, second vice president; Miss (Charlotte Voss, Michigan City, recording secretary; Miss Sally Butler, Indianapolis, corresponding secretary, and Miss Lillian Schmidt, Crown: Point, treasurer. They are to meet at- the Indianapolis club house on June 6. Nominating Committee Chosen The nominating committee chosen for 1938 includes Miss Jewell ‘Standerford, Muncie; Mrs. Lottie, Kirby, Logansport; Miss Pearl Brown, Ft. Wayne; Miss Bonita Carlson, South Bend, and Miss Elva Unger, Wabash. The equal rights amendment, was tabled for another year and a vote of instruction was given to delegates {to the national convention to be held in Atlantic City, N. J. July 17 to 24, to vote against the woman's charter. Mrs. Marie ‘Ferguson Thompson, Clinton, retiring president, was made a member of the. national nominating committee. Michigan City made a bid for the 1938 convention. The time and place of meeting is to be set later by the state council. :
