House Bloc Pushes Pleas For River Projects.

By United Press WASHINGTON, May 13.—Heartened by President Roosevelt's recognition of a serious water control problem, flood state Congressmen today increased their efforts to obtain substantial appropriations to place river projects under construction. A House bloc sought to double the $52,500,000 allotted in the executive budget for such work. : Rep. Driver (D. Ark.) said a body of Congressmen from the Mississippi and Ohio River valleys will attempt to get into the Rivers and Harbors Bill now being considered by a House Appropriations Subcommittee a 100-million-dollar appropriation to finance flood control

projects.

Dust Bowl! States Seek U. S. Help
