ARCHITECT PLAN WINS APPROVAL

ture with four gallery rooms measuring 24 by 85 feet as well as administration, preparation and storage rooms. The entire building is to be lighted by glass brick building units over all wall exhibit cases. ‘The. structure will have an auditorium with a seating capacity of 240 :and stage facilities to présent programs. A facade will be designed to suggest a building dedicated to children’s activities. Plans call for a protected loading platform in the rear of the building where groups of children may enter from busses. . For 10 years the museum has been housed at 1150 N. Meridian -St. in the former home of its founder, Mrs. Jehn N. Carey, honorary president Arthur | B: Carr is director of the museum | and Mrs. Grace Golden is executive secretary.

U.S. REGULATION OF BUSINESS RAPPED

Prof. Gus W. Dyer, Vanderbilt University, told the 18th annual convention of the . Indiana Telephone Association here last night that American industrial success can continue only under a system free from Government regulation. Others wio addressed the convention were Dr. Frank Baldwin Jewett, president of the Bell System Laboratories, and Prof. Paul J. Fay, DePauw University.

R. L. Buckingham, Chicago, will address members of the Advertising Club tomorrow ncon in the Columbia Club on “A’ Dollar and Cents Measure of Sales Methods.”

FARM CREDIT TOPIC FOR RESEARCH CLUB

Farm market credit is to be the theme of a talk by D. A. Grove, John Deere Plow Co. credit manager, at the meeting of the Market Research Club at 6 o'clock tonight in the Athenaeum. Officers elected at a recent meeting of the Marketing Club include Harry P. Britan, president; G. R. Redding, vice president, and Wells V. Bishop. secretary-treasurer. Glendon Hackney and James B. Marshall were elected directors. -

STATE TO FIX BRIDGE NEAR NEW ALBANY

The Falling Sun Creek Bridge at the west limits of New Albany, damaged by recent floods, is to be repaired with State funds this summer, Earl Crawford, Highway Commission chairman, announced today. The project is to include replacement of fills, handrails, walks and gutters, Mr. Crawford said. Bids are to open June ‘1.

James Alexander Faces Trial May 20 for Alleged Fatal Assault.

James Alexander, 204 ‘Bright St. was held without bond today on a charge of first degree murder following the death in City Hospital yesterday -of the man he is alleged to have assaulted. Trial was set *or May 20 by Judge

| Charges of assault and battery with intent to kill and vagrancy were dismissed and the murder charge substituted today. Apparently the victim of a, fight in which he received a fractured skull in March, Alvin Kendrick, 51, 542 Blake St., died yesterday in City Hospital. As a result of that fight Alexander and another man as yet not arrested were charged with assault and battery. : Friend Swears Warrants

ander and another man. |" Meanwhile, detectives had sent | Kendrick to City Hospital April 2. He was released in four days, improved. But he was readmitted April 19, where he rem-ined until his death yesterday. Befere he died, Kendrick told detectives he was struck on the head during the fight. Alexander was taken into custody April 14 when officers were investigating a fight on Indiana Ave, in which he was cut. He was charged with vagrancy and assault and battery with intent to kill on April 24. His case then was continued to May 20 pending recovery of Kendrick.

ALFONSO’S SON LAYS CLAIM TO THRONE

By United Press HAVANA, Cuba, May 12.—The Count of Covadonga, eldest son of former King Alfonso XIII, claimed

the Spanish throne today while speeding up his divorce so he can marry Senorita Marta Rocafort, daughter of a Cuban society dentist, possibly Monday. The Count said he might be called to the throne if Gen. Francisco Franco restored the monarchy. He said his father, who abdicated under pressure, had no right to waive his claims.
