Former Local Man Name To Distilled Spirits Institute Post.

Times Special WASHINGTON, May 7.—Leonarc V. Harrison, who was director o municipal research of the Indian apolis Chamber of Commerce fron 1923 to 1926, has ben made heac of the research division of the Distilled| Spirits Institute, Inc., it was announced here today. The late W. Forbes Morgan was president of the institute and Norman| W. Baxter is director of public

relations.

Announcing the appointment of Mr. Harrison, the latter said:

“He has had a long and distinguished career in the field of | researgh, beginning in 1914 with! the New York Bureau of Municipal Research. - During the next 20 years he gollaborated with Raymond B. Fosdick and Dr. Lewis Mayers in various studies, largely in the field of criminology and medicine. “Mr. Barrison was director of municipal research in Indianapolis for three years and a member of the |staff of Harvard Law School from 1926 to 192%, when he became research consultant for the National Committee on Law Obervance and Enforcement. :

| “At the time of becoming assoyiat d with the Distilled Spirits Institute, he was [director of the Bureau of Social Hygene and director of the Research Liquor Study Committee. 2 “Mr. Harrison associated with Mr, Fosdick in publishing ‘Toward Liquor Control’ at: the time of repeal. May lice today sought an unidentified transient in connection with the death of Mrs. Belle Taylor, 65-year-old widow, whose badly bruised body was found on the floor of her home Wednesday night.
