COUNTY YOUTHS SPURNING CCC RANKS, REPORT

Enrollment 372 Short of Quota; Better Times Held Reason.

Better times and employment today were said by Miss Helen Lowell, CCC Assistant State Director, to have resulted in a shortage of 372 youths in the state's quota for the second quarter.

The quota was 1575 youths hetween the ages of 17 and 28 years. Miss Lowell said 1203 were enrolled in camps. A new enrollment period is to begin in July. Marion County supplied’ 175 of the quota for April, May and June. Miss Thelma Taylor, county CCC selecting agent, said numerous

Knox, Ky. from where they were to be placed on Western conservation projects.
