SETBACK BUYING STOPS DECLINE IN GRAIN PRICES
Strength in Corn Aids Wheat As Shorts Cover May.
By United Press CHICAGO, April — Wheat prices held about steady today on the Chicago Board of Trade, as buy=ing on setbacks gave a firmer tone to the market. | At the close of the first hour wheat was 3% cent lower to !& cent higher, corn was 3% to 1! cents higher, and oats were unchanged to 3 cent lower. Selling, which hit the wheat mar= ket on each bulge, prevented any great increase in prices as sentiment appeared. fairly even. Part of the selling was credited to interests who have been buying in recent sessions. Some of the buying on setbacks was believed to be short covering, particularly in May futures. Strength in corn steadied wheat. Wheat ree ceipts were 4 cars. : . Corn grew stronger as. a steady buying movement pushed prices up. The bullishness was spread over all futures, Corn receipts were 44 cars.
