Liverpool Up
Liverpool today opened much higher on the show of strength meade by Chicago and Winnipeg Saturday. At the same time an announcement in Berlin that Germany's drastic four-year self-suf-ficiency plan would be sharply altered was taken by world traders to mean a re-entry of the Reich into the world wheat picture as a customer. Local traders based operations entirely on foreign developments, reports of fair weather in the winter wheat area getting not more than passing attention. Buying was well spread, all futures sharing the sharp advance. A report from Argentina that only 34,000,000 bushels remain for export brought continued buying. Liverpool was strong and had a bullish effect here. Wheat receipts were 22 cars, The initial bulge in corn was checked by selling on resting orders by locals. Deferred months were stronger than May but the former deliveries receded from the extreme highs while May held steady. Corn receipts were 69 cars,
