Gilda Gray Seeks $250,000 From Producers.

By United Press HOLLYWOOD, April 16.—Gilda Gray, blond shimmy dancer, made Hollywood history today with a suit on file against Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio for $250,000 because her part in a picture allegedly was deleted.

Believed to be the first suit of its kind, Miss Gray’s action charged that her professional reputation was damaged when her dance in “The Great Ziegfeld” curled up on the cutting room floor. Miss Gray, whose wriggly movements won her fame as a hula dancer several years ago, said she accepted a minor role in M-G-M's | “Rose Marie’ ’'in 1935 on condition | she would receive a more important | part in “The Greal Ziegfeld.” The “Ziegfeld” role was filmed but later cut out. She charged in a breach |! of contract suit filed yesterday.
