Two young members of an alleged gang of bicycle thieves were to be questioned by detectives today. The youths, 17 and 14, were arrested in the 1500 block of Kennington Ave. by officers who said they had a stolen bicycle in their possession. The older boy was charged with vagrancy, the younger taken to the Juvenile Detention _ Home. ‘Three youths were arrested last night in connection with the theft of an automobile. Police .,said they learned the boys had planned to drive it to Kentucky. They were charged with vagrancy. - Two young men were charged with vagrancy by police, who said they saw them prowling near cars in the 100 block on N. Alabama St.

They told officers their homes are in Detroit.

The awards were made in two divisions, one for airlines flying more than 50,000,000 miles annually, which was given to Eastern Airlines for its record of nearly 150,000,000 miles since 1930 without a death, operating less than 50,000,000 miles yearly, which was awarded to Northwest Airlines for its record of nearly 50,000,000 passenger miles without a death: between 1927 and 1936. special award was presented to Pennsylvania Central Airlines which has had no fatality from 1930 to 1936.

47 PRISONERS WIN PAROLES

Majority of 315 Petitions

Are Filed by Inmates Of Reformatory.

Forty-seven .prisoners were pa1oled from State institutions during the first quarter session of the State Clemency Commission, a report compiled by the secretary showed today. Reformatory cases formed the majority of the 315 petitions, and 129 State Prison inmates sought clemency. Five Women's Prison cases were filed and three women were paroled. The report showed a decrease of cent in paroles granted by the commission, compared with the same session in 1936. Last year, 306 cases were filed and 65 paroles granted. The parole percentage was still lower in the first 1935 quarter, when 331 cases resulted in 40 paroles.

Emil K. Rahke, 54, of 4146 N. Meridian St., was to face Municipal Judge Charles Karakell today on a charge of violation of the 1935 Slot Machine Law. He was arrested yesterday following a raid on a remodeled -house at 1121 N. Pennsylvania St. Sergt. Frank Reilley and Sergt. Carl Ashley, head of the vice squad, headed the raiders. Police, carrying a search warrant and a warrant for Rahke’s arrest, confiscated type and forms allegedly ‘used in printing baseball pool tickets.
