By United Press 1 CHICAGO, April 9.—President Roosevelt’s denial today that the Government planned a change in its gold-buying policy brought an immediate bullish reaction in grains on the Chicago Board of Trade. At the close of the first hour wheat was 14 to 142 cent higher, corn was unchanged to 7 cent higher, and oats were 3 to 12 cent higher. Immediately following the President!s announcement a sharp rally started that carried prices in all} grains to and above the previous | close. Wheat prices made strong gains but selling on the bulge erased portions of the advance. Wheat receipts were 13 cars. Corn carried the previous close on the bullish White House announcement and held the gains in May and September wheat. Profit-taking on the bulge held July prices to the previous close. Corn receipts were 28 cars.
