Bulldog Roster Boosted to 22
Additional men reporting in the last two days have brought the total ilnumber of Butler baseball candidates to .22, one of the largest turnouts in recent, years. Coach’ Tony Hinkle took the squad outside yesterday afternoon for| the first time this season and held a long batting practice. Rainy weather and muddy grounds have forced the Bulldogs to spend most of their time in the fieldhouse. The Bulldogs are spending extra time in the practice sessions this week in an effort to make up for the time spent indoors. Five positions still are to be filled before Butler opens it season Tuesday at Terre Haute with the Indiana State Teachers nine. The outfield positions still are an open race as well as the first base and catcher berths. Those who have reported to Coach Hinkle during the first week of practice are Silvio Constantino, Frank Petroff, John
Harold Trulock, James Hauss, Cody Burdette, Inman Blackaby, Warren Heath, Byron Schofield, Dick Wilson, Thomas Harding, Norval Corbett, Dave Eader, Clarence Laymon, Andy Boa, Jack Naylor, Bud Stalker, Norman Grual, and Albert Sporer.
607 in the Eli Lilly at Pritchett's and Buergler’s 606 in the Automotive at the Antlers were other honor totals
in league play. A 5) record was posted in the Eli Lilly Ladies League, when Helen | Rohr turned in a 590 total from games of 167, 225 and 198. The circuit was in session at the Pritchett Alleys.
