Week here. Tomorrow is to be Adults’ Health Day, with emphasis on annual health examinations. The observance is under the auspices of the National Health Movement in co-operation with the U. S. Public Health Service, the State Health Board, City and County Health Departments and organizations interested in community betterment. The Aesculapian Medical Society is taking the lead in the observance here. Members of the society’s committee on health include Dr. Henry L. Hummons, Dr. L. R. Young and Dr. Clarence Lucas. Mrs. W. E. Brown is permanent chairman. Subcommittee chairmen include Dr. H. M. Middleton, Dr. Homer Wales, Miss Pauline Batties, Miss Lois Holland, Mrs. Eugenia Asbury, Dr. Lucas, Dr. Young, Dr. Hummons and R. L. Brokenburr.

Hugh Marshall Sr., is held in City Prison while State Police de- - cide what, if any, charges to bring against him because of his testimony in defense of his son, Hugh Marshall Jr. recently sentenced to the electric chair from Shelby County for the murder of William H. Bright, Indianapolis druggist. Marshall testified he had advised his son before and during the commission of the crime.

Total May Hit 80 Million for New Record, Smith Says In Report.

Will H. Smith, Internal Revenue Collectgr, said today that revenue

may establish a new fiscal year record of approximately $80,000,000. Collections for the fiscal year encing June 30, 1936, were $68,485,731.27. March collections were $16,000,936.97, an increase of $6,034,125.18

over the same month last year. Collections up to March 31 were $62,573,199.24. : Income tax payments, acording to Mr. Smith, were $9,717,616.06 in March, an increase of $4,200,000 over March, 1936. Other tax increases were: Distilled spirits, $3,506,515.83; beer tax, $758.747.20; estates, $260,281.52; -elec-

MEETING HERE HELPS SPANISH LOYALISTS

Contributions totaling $150 from 90 persons were received last night by the American Friends of Spanish Democracy following an address in the Y. W. C. A. by Luis Perez, Chicago, Spanish consulate chancellor. : Mr. Perez said the “Spanish revolution is the French revolution in reverse.” He charged the Spanish conflict is “an invasion supported by Italy and Germany behind a smokescreen of subduing communism and saving Christianity.”
