PETER VAN GEYT HEADS SECURITY BRANCH IN CITY

Named to Direct Work in 49 Counties After Civil

Peter J. Van Geyt has been appointed field representative in

charge of the Indianapolis District |

Social Security Board office to succeed Albert A. Kuhie, acting manager, H. L. McCarthy, regional

director, Chicago, announced today. |

Mr. Kuhle has returned to the

located on the sixth floor, Meridian

Life Building, 307 N, Pennsylvania | St., administers Title II of the Social |

Security Act in 49 central Indiasa counties. In order more efficiently to serve the 360.000 Hoosiers who will have obtained Social Security account numbers, the Board contemplates establishing branch offices in Terre

Haute, Muncie, Richmond, Lafayette |

and Bloomington. One of the major activities of

| these offices will be to assist people | in the preparation of claims for | benefits. Many claims already have been filed in behalf of persons who have reached 65 since Jan. 1.
