By RALPH NORMAN NBC's usually active publicity department apparently is trying to keep secret the chain's splendid new dramatic series which the Blue network carries from 7 to 8 o'clock on Sunday evenings. The reason for reticence, I suspect, is that the offering is without, sponsorship, while at the same hour on NBC's Red division a sponsor offers a dramatic series called “Do You Want to Be an Actor?” If you failed to dial to a Blue network station at 7 o'clock last Sunday evening, you missed Eva Le Galliene in an excellent dramatic presentation of Thomas | Broadhurst’s adaptation of Long- | fellow’s “Evangeline.” Philip Meri- | vale opened the series a week Lovee or. | earlier, appearing in “Thorns in Ne or. The admirable English pianist, Myra Hess, now on her 14th tour of the United States, will play the first movement of the Grieg A Minor Concerto with the Detroit Orchestra at 8 p. m. Sunday on CBS-WFBM. As solos Miss Hess has chosen two Etudes (in F and A Flat), by Chopin, and the Gigue from Bach's French Suite in G Major. Nowhere, it seems to me, will one find a pianist whose interpretations are more illuminating and self-ef-facing, Miss Hess’ power and technique have grown in the past to masculine proportions, but she retains that glow of emotional warmth and reverent approach,
