The board of mahagers supervises the nursery, devoted to care of working mothers’ children, Babies are cared for in the nursery; others are kept occupied in the kindergarten, in charge of a teacher. School children are admitted after school closes. : The older children form boys’ and girls’ clubs, which meet regularly. The children present plays and learn handcrafts. Various women’s organizations provide entertainment for the children: during holiday seasons. Clothes, donated by the Needlework Guild, are distributed by the sewing committee.
‘Women Voters Oppose Limiting Of Registration
| The Indiana League of Women | Voters today announced its opposi- | | tion to House Bill No. 51, introduced yesterday and providing for registration of voters only in cities of 45,000 or more population. Action was taken at a board meeting at the Columbia Club yesterday with Mrs. S. N. Campbell presiding. According to league members, this bill would make registration effective in only six cities in the state. The League sponsored the present registration law. Dr. Ellen Potter, head of the New Jersey Department of Medicine, outlined essential provisions of a good merit system law, attributing to Indiana and New Jersey outstanding merit system rules in their Departments of Public Welfare. She advocated the need: of adequate retirement and pension provisions and a probationary period of at least six months for all new employes.

W omens Clubs Hear Plea for $1,000,000 Fund
By Uniled Press WASHINGTON, Jan. 15—Mrs. Edward Dexter Knight, San Francisco, today urged upon the General Federation of Women’s Clubs early completion of the federation's $1,060,000 foundation fund. As board of trustees chairman Mrs. Knight spoke before the midwinter meeting of the federation’s board of directors., “We need more capital to assure progress in this great, troubled, material world of which we are a responsible part,” she said. “We are making progress, but we must take longer strides and quicken our steps. We have splendid leadership, but leadership without proper support and equipment becomes a target.” She urged every women's club in the federation appoint a foundation fund committee for early completion of the fund.

In a few weeks the former will go to Naples, Fla., to take over the Scott-Moxley nome, where Mr. and Mrs. Roy Elder Adams have been vacationing with their daughter, Mrs. William. Macomber and her children, Janet, Billy and Anne, of Kendallville. Mrs. Jeremiah Cadick, a frequent visitor at Mrs. Macomber's Lake Wawasee summer home, has been in Florida with the party.
