In Caring for Patients Of Sanatorium.

One of the year's largest social events for ‘the benefit of charity is the Sunnyside Guild Ball, to be held next’ Saturday at the Columbia Club,

The dinner and dance are to be attended by the Guild membership and their friends. Proceeds are to be used for dcnations to the tuberculosis sanae torium; to aid patients on the sanatorium waiting list and needy patients who have been dismissed.

Several parties have been formed to attend a dinner dance to be held at the Marott Hotel Thursday. Mrs. Samuel C. Thirty per cent is to be turned over to the Warm Springs Foundation and 70 per cent is to be divided between the Riley and City hospitals. Dance invitations are to be issued this week. Political Author To Talk Before Voters’ League

T. V. Smith, Illinois State Senator, professor and author, is to address the Indianapolis League of Women Voters Friday at the Indianapolis Athletic Clyb. Dinner 5 to be served at 6:30 p. m. Mr. Smith is professor of philosophy at the University of Chicago and is a member of the University Round Table. He is nationally known for his analysis of political and social questions. He is editor of The International Journal of Ethics and has written several books, including “The Promise of America in Politics.”

When the weather is favorable, the horsemen ride on the grounds, but if it’s icy or muddy, they enjoy their rides in the Coliseum. Group Riding Arranged On Jan. 10 and 17 the members are to gather at 11 a. m. for group riding. They ride as’a group every week on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and individually any evening they wish. : The club's first gymkhana is scheduled for Jan. 24. The Terre Haute and Franklin Saddle Clubs’ members are to be guests. Miss Gertrude Brown, entertaine ment chairman, and J. J. Romayne, activities chairman, are working out a program to include jumping, relays, trotting race, polo games and stunts.
