IN DIVORGE LAW

Decrees Nisi Suggested ‘as Means to Curtail Hasty Action.

" A prdposal to amend the Indiana divorce law to provide decrees nisi, as granted Mrs. Wallis Warfield Simpson by an English court, was being discussed at the Statehouse today. Several judges have told Legislature members that such a regulation would tend to cut down the number of final divorces. A decree nisi would provide for reconciliation of husbands and wives who separated hastily after quarrels; it was pointed out. Such a decree is not effective until the expiration of a stated period of time or if court orders are violated. . The proposed amendment also vould tend to prevent hasty remarriages, its sponsors. said.
