NEW ASPHALT PLANT, REPORT

; E Proposed $38,000 Structure To Be Submitted to Works Board. |

First step toward consolidation of all eity repair departments was - taken today when City Engineer Henry B. Steeg announced a new city asphalt plant may be built at , 8. West-sf and the Belt Railroad. The proposed plant, according to . a resolution to be presented to the Works Board at théir next meeting, | is to cost approximately $38,000. Smaller than the present 40-year-old plant, the new structure is to have a 40-ton capacity, the city engineer said. Buildings are to be constructed by WPA labor and are to be brick. Contracts for the plant proper are to be opened for bids immediately. .
