Full-Time Welfare Worker Assigned to Supervise Guidance Programs.

Sullivan County is to be the first Indiana county to receive Federals state aid for the development of special child welfare services, it was announced foday by State Publie Welfare Department.

Under the proposed co-operative plan, the state department has ase signed a full-time child welfare worker to the county to supervise a child guidance pregram. Five other counties are to set up a similap service soon, it was announced. : Miss Mildred Arnold, state chile dren's division director, said Sullis van County was selected because of its large rural population. More than $35,000 has been appropriated from Federal funds for the exten< sion of child welfare activities in Indiana, she said. 2 Indiana plans call for the devele opment of social service programs at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Chile dren’s Home, Knightstown, and the six county units, which are to have benefit fo the full-time services of experienced social workers until able to carry on such work without assistance. Miss Fae Logan has been chosen as the child welfare worker for Sullivan County.
