Few Accidents Downtown
There are few accidents at downtown intersections involving. pedestrians, Capt. Johnson pointed out, because with officers on’ duty, motorists generally drive more carefully and have their cars under control at all times. He reiterated his warning today, however, that “gun jumpers” and ‘chiselers” face arrest. “Gun jumpers” are motorists who drive on a “change” light, frightening pedestrians. = “Chiselers” are drivers who stop over the yellow walking lane lines, forcing pedestrians to go around. Both types are dangerous, Capt. Johnson said, and create accident hazards.
