250,530 ENROLLED IN LEGION AUXILIARY |

Enrollment of 250,530 members for 1937 was reported at the concluding session of the American Legion Auxiliary conference of state department presidents and secretaries in the Legion National Headquarters yesterday.

It was explained the advance membership roll was almost 60 per cent as large as the present organization membership. There is an annual renewal of membership in the organizajion. The Department of Minnesota won first place in the drive with 94.7 per cent of its advance ‘membership quota reached. Wisconsin was second with 90.1 per cent. Indiana reported 10,795 members for next year. The auxiliary’ s resolutions followed closely the pattern laid down by Legion officers at their recent conference here.

Governor's Commission on Unemployment Relief officials received word from Washington today that junior assistant technicians for each of the 41 Civilian Conservation Corps camps in Indiana would be appointed. The jobs, paying $85 monthly, are open to CCC enrollees. Fifteen thousand youths took examinations for the positions.
