Dramatizations and demonstrations
of school work before parents were to continue. Dr. Albert Mock, Butler University, is to speak'at the open house at School 1. 3600 Gale-st, while a Parent-Teacher Association Study Club meeting is to be held at School 3, 23 N. Rural-st, in preparation for open house there tomorrow night.
Demonstrations to Be Given
Intermediate and high school grades are to present demonstrations of study methods at School 18, 1001 E. Palmer-st. A dramatization entitled “The Work of the Sun” was presented by School 18 pupils last night. A play i® to be given by the first and second grade pupils at School 6, 702 S. Union-st today. The open house program at School 25, 400 Merrill-st, scheduled for 2 p. m. today, was to be featured by a talk by Miss Agnes Mahoney, School 9 principal. William Bosse, State Department of Public Instruction, is to speak at 7 p. m. to students, parents and teachers of School 29, 2101 College-av.
Penny Supper Arranged
The School 8 open house is to begin with a penny supper. Exhibits are to be displayed from 7 to 8 p. m. Programs sponsored by school organizations are to follow the supper.
Today was designated as junior high school day at School 9, 740 E. Vermont-st. A program arranged by the Stephen Foster Choir "was to be presented at School 25, 400 E. Merrill-st. Three programs, to which parents were invited, are to be held today and tomorrow at School 35, 2201 Madison-av. Special opening exercises are to be held for pupils in grades one through six. The Rev. R. C. Henderson, Greater Bethel A. M. E. Church pastor, is to speak at School 40, 702 N. Sen-ate-av, at 7:30 p. m. Songs, stories, playlets and rhythmics were to be presented by children in grades two to six. ‘Today's observance at School 57, 5435 E. Washington-st, was to include a recital by the junior high school chorus and exhibits of extracurricular activities, shop, cooking, art, mathematics, physical education, social studies and other subjects.
W. A. Evans Is Speaker
A description of the school city as a legal corporation and an outline of the duties and responsibilities of school officials were given by William A. Evans, school publi cations director, in a speech before the Parent-Teacher Association of Betiol 58, 301 Linweood-av, yesteray. Mr. Evans contrasted the schools * of today with those of 1852, and stressed the importance of the early leadership of such men as Caleb Mills in establishing a system of free public education in Indiana. D. T. Weir, &ssistant school superintendent, explained educational method changes at an open house meeting at School 26, 1301 E. 16thst, last night. The interrelationship of various subjects now is stressed. he said. “Moral fiber is acquired just like strong muscles—through constant use and vigorous exercise,” Virgil Stinebaugh, assistant school superintendent, told the Parent-Teacher Association of School 66 at 604 E. Maple-rd, yesterday.
Co-operation Necessary
“Children must be confronted with actual moral problems and guided in the selection of desirable lines of conduct until good conduct becomes habitual,” he said. “The home and school must join in setting up standards of good conduct.” Car] Wilde, School Board presi-

SWEDEN WILL HONOR AMERICAN PIONEERS
By United Press STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Nov. 12.— Premier Albin Hansson presided over a meeting today that decided to erect an obelisk of Swedish stone at the place where Swedish pioneers landed on the Delaware coast 300 years ago. The obelisk will cost an estimated $37,500 and be of such size that it may have to be transported in sections. It is to be installed on the Delaware coast during three hunmdredth anniversary celebrations scheduled next year, for the Scandinavian pioneers.

Herbert Lowe Will Receive Pasteur Medal for Heroism.
Herbert Lowe, driver-salesman for the Banquet Ice Cream Co. who last June attacked a burglar and held him until police arrived, is to be presented with a bronze Pasteur medal for personal heroism by Mayor Kern at 2:30 tomorrow afiernoon in the Mayor's office. The medal is one of the awards given milk men annually by the Milk Industry Foundation for exceptional feats of valor outside regular line of duty while covering

A police squad of 150 helped workers break through the picket line. Police rushed the picket line, swinging clubs, when a striker threw a wooden sign at an automobile. Y.) milk driver for discovering escaping gas in an apartment house and saving a father, mother and two children who had been overcome by the fumes. TERRIER SHOW ENTRY TIME IS EXTENDED
The deadline for entering terriers in the second annual championship show of the Scottish Terrier Club
of Indiana has been extended to Sunday, Albert G. Meyer, superintendent, announced today. The deadline originally had been set today. Leading Scottish Terrier show dogs from all parts of the United States are expected to compete in the specialty show set for Nov. 19 in the Knights of Columbus Hall, 13th and Delaware-sts. Mrs. William Constable of Boston is to be judge.

By United Press ‘AKRON, Ind, Nov. 12.—John Kiesling, Fulton County, today was crowned the champion muck crops farmer of Indiana at the Northern Indiana Muck Crop Growers’ seventh annual show.
