end Fairfield-av, the Eastern Senator said the President had brought the nation through a critical period. Holding the Republican Adminis{rations previous to 1933 responsible for conditions during the early Roosevelt term, Senator Tydings said the Administration deficit was spent in this country.

Relief Issue Raised
“If relief -is turned over to states as Gov. Landon suggests,” Mayor Kern said, “this state could not support the burden more than 90 days. We could not finance the load in a community already taxed fo the utmost.” The meeting followed a torchlight parade of more than 400 cars which toured the North Side for an hour.
