Is Announced by Association Head.
‘I'he program for a three-day convention of the Indiana State Nurses’ Association, opening here Oct. 29, was announced today by Miss Nellie G. Brown, Muncie, state president. Highlights of the opening session will - include an advisory council breakfast, a business session, the President’s address, and an address by Miss Effie J. Taylor, Yale University school of nursing. Other speakers include Miss Pearl Mclver, United States Public Health Service, senior public health nursing consultant; Miss Ada Butler, American Red Cross Nursing Service, acting director; Miss Ella McNeil, national organization of Public Health Nursing, representative, and Miss Mary Lee Mitchell, Missouri State Nurses’ Association.
Miss Richard Edwards, Peru, is to discuss the work of the League of Women Voters at the second-day session.
Section Conferences Scheduled The private duty and the public health sections will hold conferences on the final day. Miss Zelma Murphy, Evansville, is chairman of the former group, and Miss Lulu V. Cline, South Bend, of the later. Social events include the convention dinner the night of Oct. 29, a tea given by the Indiana University School of Nursing at 5 p. m. The next. day at Ball nurses’ residence, and a theater party the night of Oct. -30.
Association officers, in addition to President Brown are Marie: Winkler, Indianapolis, “first vice president; Miss Edith Hunt, Terre Haute, second vice president; Mrs. Florence Sayce French, Indianapolis, secretary; Miss Jessie Groves, Indianapolis, treasurer, and Miss Helen Teal, Indianapolis, executive secretary.
The following are directors: Miss Porothy Murphy, Logansport; Miss Lulu V. Cline, South Bend; Sister Mary Elle, Anderson: Miss Rose Johnson, Fprt Wayne; Miss Lydia Schlundt, Evansville, and Miss Beatrice Short, Indianapolis.
YORKTOWN DAY IS MARKED BY DINNER
Approximat¥ly 150 representatives of patriotic organizations chose the anniversary of the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown as the occasion for a rally in favor of national defense at a “Yorktown Day” dinner in the Columbia Club last: night. i Col. Charles C. Bassett, Reserve Officers Association president, said, “Those of us who believe in national defense have been inclined to let others do all the talking, It is time that we exert our, influence, not only on public opinibn but on legison.”
