Tay Garnett Ends World Tour With 100,000 Feet of Film.

HOLLYWOOD, Oct. 14.— Tay Garnett's ‘cruise for realism” ended today as the movie producer returned to Hollywood with 100,000 feet of film which will be incorporated in several forthcom-

ing pictures. Years ago Mr. Garnett conceived the idea of making a world tour aboard his yacht to obtain authentic background which could be used in his new pictures. “In far away places of the world are beautiful backgrounds that never had been used in motion pictures,” he explained. “My theory was that with the expenditure of a reasonable amount we could give the world an actual view of millions of dollars worth of scenery. “And it cost us less to go and get it than it would to build the sets in Hollywood.” Mr. Garnett had scenarios of

| three pictures he will make with ‘him so that he knew exactly what

background he wanted on the cruise that took him to the Orient, Near East, and Europe.
