Transportation Facilities ‘Scarce, Dealers Here Report.
Scarcity of transportation facilities in the face of incréased production may cause an early in-
crease in coal prices, according to a bulletin issued today by R. H. Hildebfand, Indianapolis C o al Merchants Association executive
secretary.
“Production is increasing steadily,” a national bulletin said. “Transportation facilities are scarce in some sections and are taxed almost to. capacity in others. New . cars purchased by the carriers can not be’ delivered in‘ sufficient quantities to afford mglief this year. “Coal stocks, ‘both industrial and domestic, are too low for safety and should be replenished promptly.” : The bulletin cites that mines now work only 35 hours a week, that the miners’ wage agreement expires April 1, 1937, ang negotiations for a new agreement are to begin Feb. 1.
