for Sick Children at Bridgeport last |,
summer, was reported today at a meeting of the Marion County Tuberculosis Association in the Lincoln Hotel. Seventy boys and girls were at the camp. The 55 youngsters who remained all summer made an average gain in weight of 6.1 pounds and the others who were admitted after camp opening showed a gam of 52 pounds, Tliness Missing
The highest gain among the boys
was 1612 pounds and the highest for the girls was 13 pounds. There was _no serious illness among any of the children. * Reporting at today’s meeting were Dr. E. O. Asher, camp physician; John Lauck, camp committee chairman; Miss Mary A. Meyers, éxecutive secretary of the association; Mrs. Herbert T. Wagner, camp director, and Miss Louise Dumas, nurse in charge of the educational program. Miss Meyers reported that . the last program was the most successful of any of the nine held at at the nutrition camp.

Times Special VERSAILLES, Ind, Oct. 1.—A community street dance the night of Oct. 9 is to be the opening feature of the thirty-eighth annual Versailles Farmers’ Fair and Pumpkin Show. The show is to get under way the following morning with a parade of
floats representing Versailles business firms, churches, civic, fraternal and farmers’ organizations. Prizes are to be awarded for exhibits of farh produce, handicraft and fancy work. i
TECH NIGHT CLASSES
ARE TO OPEN OCT. 10
Registration for Technical High School night classes is to be conducted tomorrow and Friday in the Artillery Building on the campus, the School Board announced today. The evening courses, under dirsction of Edward E. Greene, Tech vice principal, are to open Oct. 10. Classes are to include studies in vocational, commercial and academic subjects, and are limited to persons more than 16 years of age. They

and Friday nights each week from

" Grant Taggart, Cowley, Wyo. is to speak at a luncheon meeting of the Indianapolis Association of Life Underwriters in the Claypool Hotel Friday. Mr. Taggart is a life member of the “Million Dollar Round Table,” a group of agents each of whom has written $1,000,000 worth of insurance.

FRANKLIN, Ind, Oct. 1.—After drilling 4092 feet in search of oil
abandoned the well after striking salty water.- The drilling contractors, J: O. Hassett, Cleveland, and
| Joseph’ Schafer, Robinson, Ill, are
dismantling their rig, which was one of the largest used in the state. They said they are convinced no oil or gas could be found in Johnson County. Operations started here 10 years ago, and were resumed last year.

John Nickel, 904 N. Denny-st, a salesman reported to police the theft of golf and bowling equipment valued at $80 and four cases of canned food from his truck parked in the rear of 1008 N. Bo-sart-av last night.
