‘Freshman Princess’ Crown Is Prize in Contest at Bloomington.

Times Specinl : - BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Oct. 1— Two Indianapolis co-eds were among 10 first-year girls named by Indiana University sororities to compete for the title “Freshman Princess” in a contest conducted this week by Bored Walk, campus humor magazine, The contest is to close Saturday night, with the girl receiving the most student votes declared winner. The Indianapolis nominees are Betty Brandon, Kappa Delta, and Yvonne DeBurton; Kappa Alpha Theta. Other entrants include Henrietta Ford, Wabash, Zeta Tau lpha; Jean Louise Allen, Bloomington, Sigma Kappa; Mary K. Hedrick, Memorial Hall; Kathryn Wagner, Peru, Delta Delta Delta; Elaine Stevens, South Bend, Alpha Chi Omega; Virginia Gray, Crawfordsville, Alpha Omicron Pi; Mary Beth Hunt, Evansville, Delta Gamma, and Miriam Fisher, Milford, Chi Omega. Scholarship Awarded

The Eleanor Joslin Lyons scholarship has been awarded to Rosemay Redding, senior co-ed from Russiaville. The award is valued at $200. Miss Redding is president of Mortar Board, senior women’s honorary organization, a member of the Association of Women, Student Council, Theta Sigma and secretary of the House Presidents’ Association, William C. Hodapp, Louisville, Indiana University extension faculty member, is to edit The Folio, new magazine for Indiana University writers. The first quarterly issue'is scheduled for Oct. 15. The magazine is to serve as a laboratory medium for more than 2000 students enrolled in English composition,

Foundation to Meet

Indiana University Foundation directors are to meet here Saturday to outline a program and elect officers. The Foundation was established by the Alumni Association last June to raise and hold. money for research and other university projects and to engage in business enterprises. Members of the board are Gov. McNutt; President William Lowe Bryan; George A. Ball, Muncie, university trustees’ president; Hugh McK. Landon, Indianapolis; Albert Rabb, - Indianapolis; Judge Ora L. Wildermuth, Gary; John S. Hastings. Washington; Uz McMurtrie, Washington; Clair Scott, Chicago, and W. A. Alexander, university librarian: | James F. Marshall, Indianapolis senior, has been chosen president of Le Cercle Francais. He spent the summer studying abroad as holder of a foreign fellowship with the International Students Union at Geneva, Switzerland.
