CITES FACTORS IN DODGE GAINS

Auto Firm Executive Meets With Indianapolis Area Sales Staffs.

Dodgé dealers, accompanied by

members of their sales staffs, this’ week assembled at Murat Temple, | 508 N. New Jersey-st, to meet Dodge

factory executives and regional representatives headed by D. T. Stan-

| ton, sales promotion department,

Detroit, and K. A. Ridenour of Cincinnati, regional manager. The basic purpose of the gathering was to acquaint the delegates with plans and preparations which will govern the organization's sales activities for the fourth quarter of the year.. Mr. Stanton drew an interesting picture of the amazing pace at which the business of the automobile industry increased during the first eight months of 1936, and cited some of the factors that have made Dodge’s share in the progressive business rise considerably greater than the average gain noted by the industry as a whole. The speaker quoted records showing that whereas the business of the entire industry during the first seven months of “1936 exceeded by 26.5 per cent the business done during the like period of 1935, the 1936 over, 1935 business gain so.far. recorded by Dodge dealers alone is

noticeably better, namely 35. 6 Per b

cent. Mr. Stanton’s: presentations were illustrated by sound and motion pictures. The meeting, which ended with an evening banquet, was attended by some 400 local and out-oi-town dealers.
