This action followed dismissal yesterday of nine men tentatively accepted for jury duty in the trial. Perkins is charged with first degree murder in connection with the pcath of Patrolman Howard Wagner during a $29,000 bank holdup here two years ago.

AAA to Begin Payment of Farm Benefits Early Next Month.

By United Press WASHINGTON, Sept. 25-—The flow of farm benefit checks will hegin early in October wiih between 2 and 5 per cent of the 6,000,000 persons expected to parficipate in the soil conservation program being paid by Nov. 1, H. R. Tolley, AAA administrator, said today. - Although the peak of the payments will not be reached until December, some will be made next month as a result’ of appeals from crougnt states. : “We have had many appeals, especially from the drought states, tc expedite the payments and we are going to do everything we can to see that they are promptly paid,” Tolley said. “We hope to be able to get somewhere between 2 and 5 per out next month.” : This may mean that from 120,000 to 300,000 checks will be mailed to farmers before the election. AAA spokesmen said, however, that the
