Charles D. Harvious, 35, 315 W New York-st, a cab driver, reported
to police today that a bandit robbed |
him of his cab and $6. The holdup took place at .34th-st and Centralav. Harvious said he hailed another cab and chased the bandit to 21st-st and Highland-av, where the man jumped from the cab and ran.
By United Press PARIS, Aug. 25—The newspaper Matin reported without confirmation today that Abd-el-Krim (above), Riffian leader, escaped from Reunion Island, where he went into exile after France and Spain joined in subduing his followers.
$100 LAVALIER STOLEN
Theft of a gold lavalier set with seven small diamonds and valued at $100, from his wife's purse was reported to police today by John O. Heppner, 608 N. Grant-st. Mr. Heppner told police hé had seen prowlers around his house twice recently.
STREET FAIR SCHEDULED
The Lawrence M. E. Church is to sponsor & street fair and fish fry in Lawrence Friday and Saturday nights, Sept. 4 and 5. Circus, contests, prizes and exhibits are to be included in the two-day program.
