Questioning in the trial today was to point toward details of the ‘ operation, allegedly committed after ¢ the girl's mother conspired with the physicians. : The defendants are Dr. Tilton E. Tillman and Dr. Samuel Boyd. Miss Hewitt, 21, charges the operation was performéd to deprive her of rights to the estate left her by her lather, Peter Cooper; Hewitt, inentor of the meréufy vapor light.

PLAYS GAME WITH POLICE AND LOSES

Police today said Edward Vaughn, Negro, 717 W. 10th-st, was a pickpocket. They said they discovered it when he played them a game yes= terday on their home grounds. He was alleged to have taken a pocketbook containing $18 from Ira Perry, Negro, WPA worker, while both were in the . police garage, where Perry is employed. McNutt to debate with Norman Thomas, Socialist candidate for President, in Indianapolis soon. Mr. Thomas has been scheduled to speak at four meetings in Indiana in October. Meetings are to be held in Indianapolis, Terre Haute and South Bend.
