popular Community Sing program. The studio aucience, Uncle Jim's amateurs and tha boy's in Peter Van Steeden’s orchestra will assist the Colonel and his partner in a comic version of group singing. audience in a program which WFBM is to broadcast, A former associate of Billy Sunday, Mr. Rodeheaver is well known here, having appeared before many club and church groups. Armed with his trusty trombone, Mr. Rodeheaver traveled through Africa recently converting natives by playing hymns. Old favorites of a generation ago, “A Bicycle Built for Two,” and “Seeing Nellie Home" | are among the songs to be featured on tonight's program. Although a bachelor, Mr. Rodeheaver has had considerable suc-

cess as a matchmaker. Various fans

have written him that hearing their old favorites has rekindled the spirit of romance.

When Show Boat is aired at 7 p. m. a week from tomorrow over WIRE, the program will feature new voices, comedy, characters and plot. Lanny Ross is to resume his role as master of ceremonies, and Al Goodman and his 30-piece orchestra are to replace Gus Haenschen. A dialect comedian to be known as Horace Nimble is to be added to the cast. Mollasses ’'n’ January, Maria, Tiny Ruffner and Ross Graham are to remain aboard the “ship.” Captain Henry, Mary Lou and the Westerners will bid farewell to the program after tomorrow night.

A re-enactment. of the airplane search for Edward Metelski through New Jersey marshes last fall is to be produced on the Gang Busters program at 8 p. m, tonight over WFBM. Metelski recently was executed for murder of a police officer. A large parabolic microphone will be installed in the studio to give the effect of space and distance, and the actor impersonating the airplane pilot will speak through a special microphone. » » »

“Religion in Music,” a type of program featured frequently on the Music Box Hour, is to be heard again at 6:30 tonight over WGN. The program will present Nina Paisley singing “Oh Lord I Am Not Worthy,” while Ellis Frakes, baritone, will feature, “Open. the Gates of Temple.” : “Virginio aruoet is to ‘present a 85-piece orchestra playing “The Rock of Ages,” and Mr. Marucci will play “Ave Maria” as a violin sole. The orchestra also is to play “The Holy City.” and an a capella choir is to sing “Praise. God From Whom All Blessings Flow.”

The rivalry between Clifford and Jack Barbour over Eva Mills is to be climaxed in One Man's Family program at 6 o'clock tonight over WLW. For several weeks Jack has been bragging ‘of his successful courtship with Miss Mills, and Clifford promises to deflate his younger brother’s ego tonight. Irrepressible Jack is not worrying about it.
