NOW SCHEDULED

Candidate to Be in State Saturday for G. 0. P. Ceremony.

Escorted by Indiana State Police and accompanied by a motorcade of Chicago Republicans, Col. Frank Knox, G. O. P. Vice Presidential candidate, is scheduled to arrive in Indianapolis at 12:30 p. m. Saturday en route to notification ceremonies for Raymond Springer,

Connersville, the party's gubernatorial candidate. Col. Knox is to rest for several hours at the Columbia Club before going to the Connersville ceremonies. Maurice Mendenhall, Indiana Knox manager prior to the Cleveland convention, and Mrs. Mendenhall are to motor to Lebanon to accompany the Chicago newspaper publisher to Indianapolis. Col. Knox is to be accompanied by Mrs. Knox and the following frineds and workers: Leroy Vernon, Chicago Daily News, politcal writer; John O’Kiefe, his personal secretary; Clarence Brown, Republican National Committee political con-tact-man, Mrs. Brown and their daughter.

Speech to Be Aired

The colonel’s address, at 8 p. m. in Connersville, is to be for 45 minutes, and is to be aired by WFBM but is not to be broadcast over a nation-wide hook-up. It will be his first speech since the Chicago notification ceremony.

Col. and Mrs. Knox are to spend Saturday night at the home of a nephew, Lew Rock, Dayton (O.) newspaper publisher. While Republicans arranged for welcoming Col. Knox from the moment he crosses the Indiana state line, plans also were made by Eleventh and Twelfth District Republicans and Republican Veterans of Indiana, Inc. for parading at 10:30 a. m. Saturday to the Connersville ceremonies. “At a meeting of a committee composed of Bert Morgan, George Vestal, Telford Orbison and Elmer Sherwood it was decided to go as a unit caravan instead of in district sections. O. T. Brown, Columbus, is to be parade marshal. Mr. Orbison is to have charge of the Eleventh District and Charles E. Bebinger the Twelfth,

Route Is Outlined

Tentative plans for the parade call for Eleventh District representatives to assemble at Emersonav and Washington-st, with the Twelfth District group assembling at Sherman-dr and Washing-ton-st. The caravan is to go east to Greenfield, where other motoring units are to join it for the parade toa Connersville. War veterans coming from northern, western, and eastern sections of the state are requested to mobilize in Greenfield. Contingents from Muncie and Fort Wayne are requested to meet the caravan at Lewisville, with those coming from Richmond and other eastern points to join the motorcade at- Cambridge City. : Leaders Are Listed

LOCAL MAN JAILED AS DRUNKEN DRIVER

Draws 90-Day Term on Farm. and Is Fined $100.

tT imes Special REENFIELD, Aug. 4—Edward E. Werner, 36, Graylynn apartment hotel, Indianapolis, was convicted here yesterday on a charge of drunken driving. Mayor James Allen sentenced him to 90 days on the State Penal Farm, assessed a $100 fine and costs, and suspended his driver's and SYtomobile licenses for a year. Werner's car struck the rear o an automobile driven by Frank Eckel, Anderson, half a mile east of here on United States Road 40. State Police Officers Oscar. Burkett and Herman Chouinard and State Police Detective John Barton made the arrest.
