A log bench is to replace the park bench as standard equipment at every- golf tee on municipal courses, it was decided yesterday by the Park Board. Mrs. Louis Markum, board member, asked that benches be placed
at each tee. It was explained that natural benches will be cheaper and more easily moored to the tee locations than new park benches. The board asked Park Superintenderit A. C. Ballee to start construction of new benches immediately. Informed that a rebate was being asked by concession holders at 26thst bathing beach because of late opening, Paul Rathert, park board

member, said the repeated late opening of the beach should be corrected in the future, It was suggested that the Sanitation Department be notified in advance of opening dates in order to make arrangements Yor sewage disposal. The opening this year was delayed when repairs were necessary on the Harding-st sewer.

for boulevard paths, Work is to be ‘ started as soon as locations are decided upon. It was suggested by Mr. Sallee that the board consider abandoning the street center esplanades which cost, he said, about $10,000 a year in maintenance. It was pointed out they are a traffic hazard as well as a large budget item, and it was suggested they be turned over to the Works Board, since they are no part of the park system.
WPA Project Approved
A WPA project to build a shelter house at Haverford Park, 46th-st - and Arsenal-av, was approved by the board. All costs are to be paid by the government. Final approval of caddy uniforms, _ White shirts with yellow lettering, was made, Twenty-eight dozen of _ the shirts are to be distributed within the next few days. The board approved transfer to the city of a strip of land along
