Highway Commission Lists
Changes Made During Past Week.
Four detours have been added and four removed on Indiana's highway system during the past week, James D. Adams, highway commission chairman, announced today. New detours are on U. 8. 27 from Richmond to Lynn and from Garrett to Auburn; Road 15 from lLafontaine north and Road 135 from Freetown north. Detours have been lifted on Road 2 from Westville to La Porte; Road 5 from Huntingburg south; Road 13 from Indianapolis north and U. S. 27 from Decatur north.
Detours are still in effect on the following state and Federal roads:

BIRTH RATE DECLINE REPORTED FOR JUNE <
16 Per Cent Drop Under 1935 Figure Is Noted.
The birth rate in Indianapolis fell 16) per cent during June compared to the same month of 1935, while the death rate remained practically the same, a report made by the City Health Department to the United States Health Department showed today.
There were 427 deaths during June, compared to 429 during the same month last year. Births decreased from 541 in 1935 to 466 this year. Automobile accidents accounted for 14 deaths during June this year, an increase of five over 1935. Male deaths outnumbered female deaths in June, 239 of the former being recorded, while 188 female deaths were listed. Births were divided about evenly, the male list accounting for 223 of the 466 total. Only 26 of the deaths were caused’ by contagious diseases, according to the report, which showed 32 deaths last year from contagious diseases.
