"FUNERAL SET FOR SATURDAY
Former Fireman, Inventor, - Fatally Stricken on Engine House Visit.
EDWARD STIEGELMEYER, 1446 Prospect-st, who dropped dead yesterday in Fire Engine Station No. 3, 1136 Prospect-st, from heart disease, is to be buried in Crown Hill Saturday following funeral services in the Roy J. Tolin Funeral Home at 2 p. m. He was 61. : Born in Louisville, Ky, Mr. Stiegelmeyer came to Indianapolis when a small boy. He was a member of the city fire department several years, but resigned about 20 years ago to work on an automatic train stop he had invented. He was a member of the Masonic order and the Elks lodge, Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Louisa Westerfield, Chicago, and a brother, William OC. Stiegelmeyer, a lieutenant in the city fire department.
MRS. MARY E. CALLAHAN, native of Indianapolis, who died Tuesday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Wellman, Chicago, is to be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery

Mrs. Callahan was the widow of Timothy E. Callahan and lived at 3710 E. Washington-st until she went to Chicago to live with her daughter six years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Maccabees. Other survivors are a son, Edward T. Callahan, New York, and a daughter, Mrs. J. H. Conerty, Indianapolis.
JOSEPH M. SINEL, for 18 years caretaker of summer cottages in Exeter Park near Ravenswood, died Tuesday in his home at 17th-st and Sylvan-av. He was 68. Funeral services were to be held in the Kirby Mortuary at 8:30 a. m. today, and in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic’ Church at 9. , Burial was to be in Glen Haven. Born in Fort Wayne, Mr. Sinel had been a resident of Indianapolis 32 years. Survivors are a daughter, Miss Josephine Sinel of Indianapolis, and a son, Edward Sinel of Hamilton.
ELWOOD MAN SLAIN IN ‘PLAY’ WITH GUN
Fiancee Pulls Trigger, Believing She Had ‘Toy Pistol.’ Times Special ELWOOD, Ind. July 23.—A playful gesture of a young woman resulted in the death last night of he: flance. Miss Ruth Stewart, 19, Elwood, found g pistol in the automobile of her flance, Glenn O. Harney: 23, while they were at the'home of her brother: Playfully she pressed it against Mr. Harney and pulled the trigger, the brother said. He told police she thought it was 8 “toy pistol.” Coroner 8S. J. Stottlemeyer, Anderson, began an investigation today.
RICHMOND REFUSES TO PURCHASE UTILITY
Proposal of Indianapolis Firm Is Tabled by Council.
Times Special RICHMOND, Ind, July 23.—A proposal by an Indianapolis firm whereby the city of Richmond could buy the local water company has been tabled indefinitely by the City Council. The plan, as submitted by the Thomas J. Pierce Co., provided for purchase by issuance of bonds to the company at 4 per cént interest, the bonds to be retired by plant revenue.
