"Administrative cost a person employed on WPA projects in indiana ‘during May was $1.63, third lowest - in the entire country, it was learned today. , Among the slates employing petween 50,000 and 100,000 persons, * Indiana had the lowest administra- * tive cost, according to the budget control report received from Washington today. The average cost in _ this group was $2.02, 2 cents lower than the national average. The only states naving lower costs than Indiana were Pennsylvania and South Carolina. On the basis of the number of administrative workers for each 1000 ~ project employes, Indiana was fifth lowest in the United States with 11.28, as compared with a national . average of 12.

In terms of administrative cost a |

work project employe from the inception of the WPA program to the . end of May, Indiana was third low- ' est in the country, only New York City, a separate WPA district, and Colorado being lower. Kentucky, Ohio and West Virginia, in the same region with Indiana, each had lower administrative costs * than the average for .other states in their respective groups, as well as fewer administrative employes for each 1000 project workers.

Dr. and Mrs. William F. Rothenburger of Indianapolis are to arrive in Southampton, England, tomorrow. They are to attend the annual British Conference of Churches of Christ in London. Dr. Rothenburger, Third Christian Church pastor, sailed with Mrs. Rothenburger. Thursday on the Aquitania. They are delegates of the American and Canadian churches of the Disciples of Christ. They plan a tour of Scotland and Ireland after the conference.
