Local Utility Drafts Issue Based on Improvements ~, to Its Plant.

The Indiana Public Service Commission today had under advisement a request of the Indianapolis Water Co. to issue $522 in 5 per cent gold bonds and 3810 shares of 5 per cent preferred stock, par value $100 a share. At a hearing yesterday the water company sasseu 10T a decision by Friday. - Capitalization of plant improvements during the last five years is the purpose of the proposed boud - and stock issue, according to the petition. bonds would not be marketed, the

Perry McCart, commission chairman, asked that the water company’s figures be divided to. show the cost. of improvements made before June 1, 1931, because, he pointed out, the law provides that securities may be issued only against capital expenditures that have taken _ place in the five years immediately prior to the date of the filing of the petition for the issue. | The petition was filed June 1, 1936.
