State Committee Also Des- . ignates Finance Group to Handle Funds.
Republican campaign headquarters are to be established by the Indiana state committee in each of the 12 congressional districts within a few weeks,
Decision to decentralize the G. O. P. organization into districts for the fall campaign was made yesterday at a meeting here of the state comIn setting up the district headquarters, Marion County is to be regarded as one district. As much campaign activity as . possible is to be transferred from - state headquarters to district offices, declared Ivan Morgan, state chairman. A special finance committee was named to supervise the state committee’s receipts and expenditures. Members are J. T. Moorman, Irving Lemaux and Felix M. McWhirter.
Committee Is Compromise
This committee was a result of an agreement between the so-called Ralph Gates group of the party and the faction led by Don B. Irwin, former state chairman. The. Gates group insisted on retirement of Burrell Wright as treasurer. A finance committee for the campaign, to be composed of 15 or more members, also is to be named. Each appointee is to be approved by his district chairman and vice chairman after selection is made by Chairman Morgan ‘and Treasurer Wright. The state committee also is to cooperate with the Republican Victory League of Indiana in raising funds

WASHINGTON, July 2—Announcement of the merger of three Mishawaka banks into the First National Bank of Mishawaka was,
made today by the Controller of | Currency in the Treasury Department. Banks merged are the First National, First Trust and Savings and North Side Trust and Savings, each with a capital stock of $100,000. Capitalization of the merged bank is $400,000, consisting of $200,000 par value of preferred stock and $200,000 par value of common stock. Surplus is $100,000.
