"UNIFORM CODE IS SET UP FOR BOLF COURSES

Men Must Wear Shirts, but|!

Women May Play in Shorts.

Starting today, the city’s six public golf courses were to be operated under a uniform code of regulations, Standardized rules were agreed on last night at a special

meeting of the Park Board, which :

controls all municipal links. The board assembled professionals, ticket takers, rangers and custodians from all courses and presented a code. The new regulations are designed to make the courses more attractive to golfers. New regulations include: Masculine golfers are required to wear shirts on the course, although feminine club wielders are to be permitted to wear shorts. All clubhouses are to close at 8 P. m. and no towels are to be issued after 7:45. Players must appear at the clubhouse at the time of’ their reservations or wait their turn; children of any age are to be permitted to play if they have a regular ticket. Caddy fees are to be increased from 85 cents to $1 for 18 holes, and 50 cents for nine holes, starting July 1. Large cards bearing the following six rules are to be posted at all courses: Get ticket before teeing off. Each player must have a bag and four clubs, one a putter. High-heeled shoes prohibited. Turf must be replaced. Slow players must let following players through. No more than one foursome may play together at any time.

REALTORS REPORT $2,126,000 IN SALES

North Side Group’s Total Near All 1935 Transactions.

Property sales by North Side realtors, since Jan. 1, were reported today by John W. Robbins, secretary of the North Side Real Estate Club, as being within $295,000 of the total 1935 sales. Total sales made since Jan. 1 amounted to $2,126,000, Mr. Robbins reported. He said next week's fancheon of the realty club is expected to show sales totaling more than for all of 1935. Sales aggregating $106,000 were reported yesterday by Mr. Robbins at a luncheon in the Architects and Builders Building. Fourteen homes and four lots were included in the sales made in the last week.

CROUCH MAY PLEAD GUILTY, IS REPORT

Alleged Slayer of U. S. Agent to Be Arraigned Tomorrow, By United Press SOUTH BEND, Ind. June 23.—

Harlan Crouch and James Jacobs,

alleged slayers of John Foster, Internal Revenue agent, are to be arraigned before Judge Thomas W. Slick in Northern Indiana District Federal Court tomorrow. - It was reported that Crouch may plead guilty to second-degree murder in an effort to escape prosecution under a first-degree charge which carries a mandatory sentence of death by hanging upon conviction.

FREE AURORA WOMAN

Mrs. Emma Houze Acquitted of Drowning Infant. Times Special AURORA, Ind. June 23.—A jury here yesterday acquitted Mrs. Emma Houze of a charge of complicity in - the drowning of an infant born to an unwed mother, Miss Pearl Sherman, Mrs. Jennie Sherman, grandmother of the baby, was convicted of second-degree murder in the drowning and is to serve a life term in prison.

$10,000 DAMAGES ASKED

Greensburg Man Alleges He Was Hurt in Bus Wreck Feb, §.

Times Special ~ GREENSBURG, Ind. June 23.— Damages of $10,000 are sought from the Indianapolis& Southeastern Bus Lines by Curtis Schwind, Greensburg, in a suit filed here. Mr. Schwind alleged that he was injured in an accident Feb. 5, when his automobile was struck by a bus driven by William Henderson.

Membership Drive Opens A three-week campaign to extend the Boy Scout movement in Indianapolis is being conducted today by 25 teams. The drive opened officially yesterday.

YOUTH IS DETAINED IN DEATH OF UNCLE

Grand Jury at Lawrenceburg to Investigate Fatal Attack.

Times Special LAWRENCEBURG, Ind., June 23. —A grand jury is to be called today to investigate the death of Everett Croxton, 43, Moores Hill, found fatally beaten in the yard of his home Saturday. His 19-year-old nephew, Virgil Bruce, is held in jail here, charged with first-degree murder. He was arrested in Covington, Ky. Sheriff Charles H. Henke said young Bruce had threatened his uncle recently after the uncle had caused his arrest for the theft of chickens. He said that Bruce admit-
