it was-.announced. The inspections are to be conducted on the half-mile track at the state Fairground. All inspections are expected to be completed by July 5. Under the new ordinance all cabs must be tested regularly by
' the weights and measures and traf- ; fic departments and the city controller’s office.
Inspection blanks are to be filled out in triplicate by the weights and measures inspectors. The information desired includes license number, certificate of title number, motor numbers, horse power, seating capacity, make of car, meter number, color of cab, owner, and the name
- of the operator.
Duplicate blanks are to be turned over to the controller's office where

The State Clemency Commission today had granted three paroles and denied 16 leniency petitions in a report approved yesterday by Gov.

Marion County convictions. James Edwards, Negro, sentenced in Municipal Court April 11, 1936, to serve 120 days at the Indiana State Farm and fined $25 for assaull and battery, was paroled and his fine remitted. The conviction resulted from a family fight in which Edwards was alleged to have hurled a glass which struck his wife. Robert Bishop, sentenced Jan. 31, 1936, in Municipal Court to serve
a fraudulent check, was denied a parole. William Welch, sentenced in Municipal Court last April 12 to serve 100 days for intoxication and automobile law* violatidns, also was denied clemency.
