Gladys Gilatte Is to Model for Gotham Stylists
By HELEN WORDEN NEW YORK, June 13. — Miss Gladys Gilatte, whose .mother resides at 3060 N. Meridian-st, Indianapolis, is staying at the Barbizon Plaza, near Central Park. Miss Gilatte was selected to model for Milgrim, one of the fashionable ‘shops on 57th-st, the Rue de la Paix of Gotham, and her duties will keep her here for several months. It was Milgrim that made the in-
auguration gowns for Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt. She also wore a creation in Eleanor blue, over silver, for the birthday ball given in honor of the President in January, 1935, and in 1936, in recognition of the color selected for this celebration, appeared in Georgia peach pink. Al fresco parties are taking place nightly in the park, on the Mall, and recently the Finnish folk gave "a native dance in quaint costume. On another occasion, peasant numbers from Budapest gave the Hoca- * poca, to the strains of the beautiful Blue Danube. ‘Every night, everybody can dance here according to mood. In this polyglot city, where all languages are heard constantly, one feels that it is after all only a tourist resort. For the old Knickerbocker families are fast giving way to the foreign influx. At St. Marks-in-the-Bouwerie, the ancient church on E. 1lith-st where good Petrus Stuyvesant, with the wooden leg, lies in a vault, more than 2500 ancestors of New York's aristocracy are buried in the Pan-
