follow: ; Lake—All streams are at their normal stage, but not quite clear, including Wolf, George, Cedar, Lake Dale Carlia, and Deep River. Fish‘ermen are catching Jbull-heads, carp, suckers, perch and catfish in roily waters. " Porter—Flint, Long, Wanhob, Joomis, Canada, and Elisa Lakes are all clear, and about normal Jevel. Kankakee River is semi‘clear, Calumet River is roily, so is Balt Creek. Bull-heads are biting, but not many fishermen out. Lakes Reported Clear White, Benton—Shafer and Freeman Lakes are clear, Catfish are biting well. Carroll—Tippecanoe River is ~ glear, and some catfish are being caught. Delaware, Randolph—Streams are clear and normal. Fishermen have been catching some nice yellow catfish, and some large carp. Hamilton, Tipton — All streams are clear. being urged by the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce, A telegram sent yesterday afternon to Senators Fdereick VanNuys and Sherman Minton and Reps. Louis Ludlow and William H. Larrabee, by George S. Olive, chamber president, asserted the proposed tax would endanger plant expansion and ¢he minimum working capital required by industry. The text of the telegram follows: “Before final action on tax bill, wish to get our views before you,

new and increased taxes should be adopted without any effective effort made to reduce expenditure and with trend still upward. “Urge there should be incorporated exemption from 7 per cent surtax on undistributed corporate earnings of at least from 30 to 40 per cent. That amount normally needed by any business that is making progress, for plant expansion, working capital, etc. “Unless a concern has built up a very ‘large backlog, such amounts are minimum requirements.”
