SAMUEL LYNESS SET 1:30 FRIDAY

Native of Ireland Lived in Indianapolis Since 1905.

Pinal rites for Samuel Lyness, who died yesterday at his home, 4376 Birchwood-av, after a short illness, are to be conducted at 1:30 Friday at the Flanner & Buchanan Mortuary. Burial is to be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Lyness was 68 and a native of Ireland. He came to the United States in 1905 and resided in this city since. Mr. Lyness was an excavating contractor and a member of the Oriental Lodge F. & A. M. and All Saints Episcopal Cathedral. - Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Rachel Lyness, whom he married in Ireland in 1902, two sons, Arnold and Walter Lyness, and a cousin, Samuel Lyness, all residing here.

Robert D. Machan

Funeral services for Robert D. Machan, 3606 Balsam-av, apartment 16, insurance broker, who died at the Methodist Hospital yesterday, are to be conducted at 2 tomorrow in the Agzelle Funeral Home in Elkhart. Burial -is to be in the Rice Cemetery in that city. Mr. Machan was 59. He was born in Lagrange but had resided here for 35 years. He was a member of the Columbia Club and the Masonic Order. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Bertha Machan, and two sisters, Misses Edith and Margaret Machan, both of Elkhart.

MILK PRICES FOR MAY PERIOD ARE OUTLINED

Announcement on Rates Is Made by Leon Coller, Administrator,

Milk prices for the delivery period from May 16 to 31, 1936, inclusive, for distributors were announced today by Leon C. Coller, milk administrator for the Marion County area: They are: Class 1, $2.20 cwt.; Class 2, $1.37 cwt.; Class 3, $1.21 cwt. These. prices will be paid by distributors for milk of 4 per cent butterfat content, purchased by them the last half of May.

During the debates on the relief appropriations, Senator Hastings launched a two-hour tirade on the Works Progress Administration, terming WPA expensive and politically administered. He cited the charges of WPA politics in Indiana made by Senator Frederick VanNuys. No sooner was the Delaware senator seated than Senator Minton took the floor, assailing all that had been said and defending WPA in Indiana as the best administered in

the country.
