FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT DIES; FUNERAL HERE Rites for Frank Barbieur, Ladoga, Arranged for Friday. Funeral rites for Frank Barbieur, a resident of Indianapolis 35 years, are to be held at 2 Friday afternoon in the First Nazarene Church. Burial is to be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mr. Barbieur, who was 63, died yesterday at Ladoga, where he had lived ior the last two years. Indianapolis survivors are a daughter. Mrs. Rosamonde Miller, and a granddaughter, Louise Miller. Musser Service Tomorrow Last rites are to be held at 2 tomorrow afternoon for Mrs. Mary Musser, 1822 New-st, who died in St. Francis Hospital Monday following a short illness. She was 51, and had been employed for more than 16 years with Van Camp's, Inc. Indianapolis survivors are the husband, William Musser; a son, Charles W. Musser, and a sister, Mrs. Helen DaVee. Sergt. F. T. Wright Dies Funeral services for Sergt. Floyd T. Wright, Cos, C. Eleventh Infantry, are to be held at 2 tomorrow afternoon at the Severin Club, with Chaplain Fred R. Davies officiating. Burial is to be in Fort Benjamin Harrison Cemetery. Sergt. Wright died yesterday morning at the post hospital, following an illness of several months. He was 33 and had served 12 years in the Army. Indianapolis survivors are the widow, Mrs. Josie Wright, and a 19-month-old son, Donald Richard. BRITISH LABOR PARTY LEADER TO TALK HERE George Lansbury Scheduled for Peace Meeting at Cadle. Indiana citizens interested In world peace are to have an opportunity to hear George Lansbury, British Labor Party leader, here Monday, May 4. Appearing under the sponsorship of the nation-wide Emergency Peace Campaign conducted in 300 cities, Mr. Lansbury is to speak at an all-day forum and at a night mass meeting in Cadle Tabernacle. Rabbi Ferdinand M. Isserman, St. Louis, and Ray Newton, Philadelphia, executive secretary of the American Friends Service Committee peace section, are to accompany Mr. Lansbury. The Emergency Peace Campaign is being pushed as the first step in a national movement to keep the United States out of war, the sponsors say. Known as the “grand old man of the British Isles.” Mr. Lansbury early in his political career was imprisoned for refusal to reduce relief funds he believed already inadequate. February last. Mr. Lansbury urged in the House of Commons that England call an international conference to deal with the problem of distribution of raw materials. The motion was defeated.

COL. ROOSEVELT BIDS FOR DEMOCRATIC AID Anti-New Deal Ranks Urged to Join Republican Forces. By United Press NEW YORK. April 22. Col. Theodore Roosevelt held out a fraternal hand today to “hundreds of thousands of Democrats who think as we do.” He addressed the National Republican Club last night, accepting the club presidency for the third time. “Let us make common cause with these Democrats,” he said. “Let us invite them to fight side by side with us for the democracy we love. Let us assure them, not merely that we will welcome their aid, but that when we triumph we will invite them to a place at the council board.”

3 CIVIC CROUPS URGE STATE-AV PAVINGJ’ROJECT Perry Township Club Heads to Seek Support of Highway Commission. Presidents of three Perry Township civic groups today planned to urge the State Highway Commission to improve s. State-av from Naomist to State Road 31. The South State Avenue. Perry Township and University Heights civic clubs last night heard County Commissioner Clarence Wheatley discuss the project. He said the. state commission was impressed with the proposal and would make an engineering survey. Mayor Says City Lacks Funds In a meeting yesterday with the commission. Mayor Kern, Louis Brandt, Works Board member, and Mr. Wheatley discussed the possibility of obtaining Federal funds for the project. Mayor Kern said the city was hampered by lack of funds. Mr. Wheatley added that the county would be likewise restricted. J. D. Adams, state highway commission chairman, pointed out that the project probably would call for anew street where State-av now jogs. The new improvement would run from Gimber-st to Troy-av, and would cross Lick Creek at a point where there is no bridge now, he said. The co-operation of the state, county and city is needed for the
