INDIANAPOLIS TO JOIN WORLD IN OBSERVANCE OF EASTER FESTIVAL
Local Churches to Herald Holiday With Plays, Music, Pageants and Other Services Elaborate Programs to Be Presented Here by Both Catholic and Protestant Choirs; Carols, Cantatas to Continue All Day. . Bpectal music celebrating Christendom’s triumphant festival of Easter is to feature nearly all services in Indianapolis churches tomorrow. Many churches are presenting programs with augmented choirs and accompanied by instrumental ensembles assembled for the occasion.
Pageants and religious dramas also are to be included in numerous services. Music embracing the works of the ancient church composers as well as modem writers will be heard. Catholic churches are to present masses by Palestrina, Lotti and their contemporaries; Lutheran and other Protestant churches will ring chorales and cantatas by Jlach, and more recent composers, such as Widor, Stainer and Dudley Buck are to be represented in vocal and instrumental music.
