The sponsors obviously aren’t planning to discontinue the popular program in the near future or they would not be passing out long-term contracts to new talent. Dick Powell, master of ceremonies, after return-

Music BY JAMES THRASHER TWO songs appropriate to Good Friday are to feature Jessica Dragonette’s return to the air at 7 tonight, on her usual NBCWEAF program. They are “My Spirit Was in Heaviness,” by Bach, and Richard Hagemann’s “Christ Went Up Into the Hills.” The diminutive soprano returned Sunday from a five weeks’ vacation in Arizona and California, her first visit to the Pacific Coast. A youthful radio veteran, she has mastered the intricacies of broadcasting, and brings to her listeners an exceptional “microphone frnphniniio” oc troll a e a lAtroltr

In writing of his artistic beliefs, Mr. Bloch has said that his chief interest lies in the “complex, glowing, agitated soul” that he feels vibrating through the Bible. Since Fred appeared as an “amateur” on Fred Allen’s program last week, the Waring musical saw presentation, as well as other acts on the remarkably funny broadcast, has been much discussed. Fred actually began his musical saw career with the University of Pennsylvania Glee Club, but never until last week did he get around to using one on radio. The Pennsylvanians will be heard at 8:30 tonight. n a Three talks tonight: Felix M. Warburg, banker, is to discuss relief work being done among Jews by the Joint Distribution Committee, NBC-WEAF at 6:33; Rep, William M.
