DETOURS ADDED AS STATE ROAD BUILDING OPENS Other Construction Jobs to Start Soon, Indiana Director Says. Renewal of construction activities on the Indiana state highway system, pemitted by recent favorable weather, brought three new detours this week. Scheduled start of a number of other construction projects are to cause additional detours soon, the State Highway Commission announced. The detours added this week are on United States 31, between Seymour and Columbus; on United States 41 over Sullivan city streets, and on Road 114, between Akron and the junction with Road 15. A construction detour on Road 14, cast of Akron, was removed and truck detours have been lifted from United States 40 between the junction with Road 43 and Indianapolis, and from Road 119 between Buffalo and Hcadlee. Detours in effect include: Road 9. Drive carefully from Junction R-'.ad 67 nouth of Pendleton to Huntsville account shoulder and bridge construction. Road 13. Three miles over gravel from Junction Roads 13 and 24, northeast of Wabash, west and south to Wabash. Road 15. Closed between Wabash and Road 114, detour 20 miles marked over Roads 13. 213 and 114; detour 13 miles marked Irom Silver hake east over Road 14 and north over four miles of county gravel road and six miles of county concrete to Warsaw. Road 24. Detour seven miles over gravel front Lagro south and cast to Wabash. Road 25. Closed between Rochester and Mentone. 20 miles over Roads 14 and 19. Road 27. Detour at Junction of Road 124 is one and one-half miles. Road 28. Detour over city streets In Frankfort. United States Road 31. Closed from Seymour to' Columbus; detour over Roads so and 7; closed from Junction Road 6 Just south of LaPaz north to one-half mile south of South Bend; detour marked east over United Slates 6 to Road 331 to Ireland road and west over county pavement to United States Road 31. United States Road 36. Closed from Indianapolis to Junction Road 9, south of Pendleton, detour over Roads 40 and 9. Road 37. Detour over city streets In Paoll. United States Road 40. Traffic drive carefully past construction forces between Cambridge City and East Germantown; two-lane traffic through bridge cast of Cambridge City. United States Roar. 41. Johnson (above), Downey Avenue Christian Church pastor, is to be chairman of a symposium on Sinclair Lewis’ novel, “It Can’t Happen Here,’’ at 8 Sunday night in Kirshbaum Center, 2314 N. Me-ridian-st. Speakers Include Rabbi Elia3 Charry, the Rev. M. W. Clair Jr., Joseph H. Friend, Miss Ruth S. Martin, Tristram Coffin, B. Foster and Miss Margaret English. The symposium is sponsored by the American League Against War and Fascism.

Detour eight and one-half miles over county gravel and brick- Magley south and east to Decatur. (Starts April 1.) Road 238. Detour 2.9 miles Just east of Junction Roads 67 and 236, is over county paved road and Road 67.
